Poopin' in church

Sooner or later, you had to know that there was going to be a post about poop. My darling daughter whom I love very much has now desecrated two places of worship with grunts, a red and disgruntled face, and a very stinky diaper. The first was St. Martins on Trafalgar Square. Michel and I met Dan there for lunch. You can actually eat lunch cafeteria style in the crypt. We ate in an echo-ey room off to the side. Two tuna sandwiches, with sides of pickles, new potato salad, sauerkraut, and beetroot salad paired with two tap waters equals 12.75 pounds, double that to make $25...and that's a very inexpensive meal! London is not the place for those with sticker shock. Anyway, it's not often that you can say that you changed a diaper in a crypt!
The second place that Alena dropped a load was Westminster Abbey which is located across from Big Ben. I was secretly pleased that she did her business there since you have to pay to enter the church to begin with. Admission was 10 pounds per adult, and little Miss Alena was free. With restorations going on inside the building, the only thing to see within it were the memorials. There are a lot of dead people inside the Abbey including Queen Elizabeth I, King Henry III, Mary Queen of Scots, Bloody Mary (Mary Tudor who is actually buried next to her half sister Elizabeth.) along with many more royalty, knights, abbots, poets, and actors. It's basically an indoor cemetary. My favorite was a sign that was next to a short wooden door with iron hardware. It was labeled, "Oldest door in Britain." Michel asked me how they knew if it was or wasn't, and I simply replied, "They put a plaque in front of it that says it is." When we left, we walked through St. James park which is gorgeous this time of year. The only problem was that it's raining these little cotton ball seeds from the trees that make for a dry throat and ticklish nose. I found a nice, cool spot under a big shady tree and changed a very stinky diaper. We sat there for a little while and let Alena play in the grass. Michel made her a flower garland head piece and we took pictures.
We figured out our way home to meet Dan and head back out to the grocery store. Our dinner tonight consisted of an already cooked rotisserie chicken, Velveeta mac 'n cheese, and salad. It's probably been my favorite meal so far.
